an aim to build a robust mid and entry level range of storage product

is aggressively making investments in the storage
business. The company is on an expansion spree and penetrating into
B- and C-class cities for its mid and entry level range of products.
This year, the company's prime focus will be to enhance its storage
channel and make it the fastest growing brand by 2015. Hence, the
company is planning to roll out its Storage Specialty Program in
India.

addition, IBM India has appointed Subroto Das as VP for storage
business in India and South Asia. Das was earlier associated with
EMC. In an exclusive interview with The DQ Week, Laura Guio,VP,
storgae, STG growth markets unit, IBM, explained about the new
program, “The IBM Storage Specialty Program is designed to reward
IBM business partners, who make a signifi cant investment in skills
and certifi cations, customer references and have the ability to
successfully sell and deploy IBM system storage solutions. The
program has two tiers-Specialty and Specialty Elite. Currently, we
have identifi ed 15 key storage partners out of 40, who are matching
our expectations. We are in the middle of rolling out this program
for our partners.”

selected partners will receive a suite of benefits including
proactive support resources (aligned personnel), planning workshops,
fi nance benefits and education advantage. IBM has packaged a
suiteof benefits for qualifying System Storage Specialty Business
Partners, which will help facilitate the development of successful,
sustainable, IBM System Storage practices. IBM is committed to
support and develop this Specialty program. We will also provide
additional resources to our top business partners, as we are pursuing
an aggressive growth program throughout 2012 and beyond. In addition,
IBM will continue to align resources and benefi ts to those business
partners who actively demonstrate a willingness to invest in IBM
skills and aligned resources. “The partner will also get an
opportunity to provide value to their clients because they can also
have access to IBM Storage Infrastructure Optimization (SIO) Study
and Assessment that demonstrates key business benefi ts to the client
organization,” said Guio.
