DQW EXCLUSIVE: Ambarish Deshpande quits McAfee, joins Blue Coat India

Ambarish
Deshpande, former director, alliance, channels and mid-market, South
Asia, McAfee India will now spearhead Blue Coat India operations with
a focus on channel expansion, and to propel the company's growth in
the country. “I will be joining Blue Coat by the mid of November.
My focus will be to consolidate the company's pan-India presence.
In addition, I will be responsible for driving the company's
channel roadmap,” Deshpande exclusively informed The DQWeek.
He is expected to join by November 15, wherein he will be replacing
Kumar Mitra who was the regional sales director India. With more than
17 years of experience in the security industry, Deshpande will bring
his extensive experience in growing new businesses and driving growth
through channel and enterprise sales.

Prior to
McAfee, he was at
IronPort, a Cisco business unit. In addition, Deshpande led
Symantec's channel sales in India, and also worked at Ingram Micro.
He holds a bachelors degree in Science (Chemistry), and has done MBA
in sales and marketing from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management
Studies. Blue Coat Systems offer service provider solutions for
managed security and WAN optimization as well as carrier-grade
caching solutions to save on bandwidth and enhance the end-user web
experience.
