Docket Care high on MFDs

Better known for its consumables business Lucknow-based Docket Care is going
great guns in its new business of MFDs. Last year, in November, the company took
on the distributorship of HP and Samsung MFDs for Eastern UP.

Beginning with 15 MFDs-a-month today exactly a year later the company is
doing 300 MFDs-a-month. "We closed last quarter with a sale of 800 MFDs,"
said Pankaj Kumar Agarwal, CEO, Docket Care.

Apart from Lucknow, Agarwal classifies Kanpur and Allahabad as good markets
in Eastern UP and has about 150 channel partners in its fold. As the company
largely focuses on the consumables business about 70 percent of the channel in
place is new, brought into Docket Care network in the last one year.

The company projections for this financial year include a revenue of Rs 8
crore from its traditional business, which is supplies, and another Rs 8 crore
from the MFD business.

Docket Care began operations in 1993 with fax machines and still has a
stronghold on the fax machine business with Panasonic and Brother brands.
"However, the fax machine and the printer market is showing a dip while MFD
business is rising steadily," stated Agarwal elaborating that they are now
doing about 200 fax machines-a-month. He added that for Docket Care MFDs is new
focus business and he is working strategies to grow the same. "Most of
these are HP MFDs and with the support of the vendor we have done very well and
are working at growing the business," he said.
