Discreet, a division of Autodesk Inc has announced the India launch of combustion, the company's new visual effects application for the desktop. The recipient of several industry awards since its launch, combustion is in use at a variety of customer sites ranging from large post-production houses and broadcast graphic arts departments to specialized post boutiques. Discreet is one of the premier developers of systems and software for visual effects, 3D animation, editing and broadcast.

combustion is a Macintosh and Windows-based software solution that offers a unified paint, animation, and 3D-compositing environment for graphics and visual effects creation. combustion embodies acclaimed Discreet effects technology as well as revolutionary new functionality within an extremely fast, scalable architecture.

combustion delivers Discreet's artistic interface with powerful 'in-context' tools: keying, motion tracking, color correction, vector-based nondestructive paint animation, true 3D compositing, network rendering, and support for Adobe Photoshop and After Effects plug-ins.

Artists designing effects in combustion can share common motion tracking, keying, and color correction setup data with inferno, flame, flint, fire, and smoke systems. This streamlined and integrated approach to effects creation is unique to Discreet and offers post-production and broadcast facilities, significant creativity and productivity benefits such as superior new visual effects, simplified project coordination, and improved resource scheduling.

The advanced software architecture of combustion is ideal for individual workstation effects creation, but also has advanced integration with 3D studio max and edit software for desktop effects, editing and animation capabilities. Digital artists and animators can paint or use composites directly in 3D studio max, create textures and background plates, or post-process scenes in combustion using 3D studio max software's Rich Pixel Format (RPF) file format interchange. Effects created in combustion are available directly within the edit bins or timelines for immediate effects-to-editing integration.
