Digi-Link, the structured cabling brand from D-Link India, has rolled out
'Digi-Link-Be ready for the future today', a series of roadshows focused on
training Digi-Link's corporate customers, Empower System Integrators (EVSI) and
Empower Value-Added Resellers (EVAR). The roadshow comprising of 128 seminar and
training workshops, took off from Kota, Rajasthan and will cover 66 a, b and
C-class cities across the country. It focuses on emerging technologies in
structured cabling like 10G and IPLMS solutions.
Anand C Mehta, Associate VP-Marketing, D-Link India said, “In this age of
fast changing technology, one has to stay informed about the latest
technological developÂments and trends, this is of utmost importance to business
partners who play a major role in advising the end-customer on the best
technological solution to opt for. Digi-Link has trained its energies on helping
its partners and customers choose the right type of technology today, so that
they are ready for the future. These roadshows have been specifically designed
to serve this objective.”

To explain the underlying theme of the roadshows he added, “Be ready for the
future today-it is our moto for SCS. It's the underlying philosophy that one
must keep in mind for all structured cabling deployments. Normally, active
networking products like switching have a product lifetime of about three to
five years, primarily because of changes in technology and prevailing standards.
One would normally upgrade the server room infraÂstructure every three years, on
the other hand, the backbone cabling and the horizontal cables that run up to
the workstations remain unchanged normally for a minimum of seven years, an
average of 11 years and at times even for 15 years. This is why Digi-Link offers
a warranty that extends up to 20 years. Keeping this in mind, it is easy to
figure out that structured cabling installed today needs to last at least two
iterations of active networking technology and hence, we must be ready for the
future technology today.”
Debraj Dam, Associate VP-SCS, D-Link India said, “These kinds of seminars
form an ideal platform for having a one to one interaction with the customers,
SIs and resellers. It also goes a long way to address their issues and concerns
and thus, forge a stronger vendor-business partner relationship.”
