ISODA has freezed its election date scheduled on August 2 with the elections to be held namely for the posts of Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President (VP) and Vice Chairman (VC) as the later two current portfolio holders are likely to be upgraded to the vacancies of President and Chairman.
Sources in ISODA said that the current president, Alok Gupta is most likely to resign and thereby the present VP, Devesh Agarwal is most likely to fill up the vacancy. Also, the chairman Biran Shah is likely to step down allowing Vishal Bindra (acting VC) to fill up the slot.
"We will hold the election and our AGM on August 2. Nominations are likely to come in for the vacancies during July", Devesh Agarwal, spokesperson, ISODA stated.
In its last election, ISODA adopted the proposition to have a routine upgradation in place for the holders of VP and VC portfolio to president and chairman respectively implying that the current personnel holding the offices of VP and VC have a fair chance to become the next president and chairman.
"By adopting this automatic upgradation process and allowing new members to come in for the portfolios of secretary, treasurer, VP and VC we can have the best of both worlds. On one had the experienced members (VP and VC) ensuring continuity and thereby guaranteeing the thought process of ISODA and on the other, fresh office bearers allows for assimilation of newer ideas and techniques", a senior member of ISODA said wishing not to be quoted.
