Rational Business Corporation (RBC) has launched a new scheme in the form of a display contest for its dealers, resellers and customers for its vast range of products. The display contest scheme meant for all the retail stores in Delhi and NCR, starts from January 1, 2002 and would last till January 15, 2002.
To greet its cherished customers on the happy occasion of Christmas, RBC launched a Christmas Carnival scheme that started from December 22, 2001 and would go on till December 31, 2001. Under this scheme, anybody buying deS'mat products worth Rs 500 would get a gift voucher worth Rs 50 of that store, which one can redeem by purchasing anything else. The other is to buy three packs of CD storage boxes with the capacity of 10/12/20 or a combination and then get a free gift voucher worth Rs 50. RBC expects to achieve a sales target of Rs 25,000 from each store, during this particular period.
The dealers' scheme is divided in two levels. To participate, every contestant has to reach Level 1, which is by purchasing goods worth Rs 25,000. Anybody who enters the Level 1 will get an Inkjet Swatch Book worth Rs 300 absolutely free. In the second level, one has to purchase certain goods specified by the company. Anybody qualifying for this level gets a glow signboard in size 6x3 worth Rs 3,000, again absolutely free from the company.
Company representatives would inspect all the stores during this period and judge the displays at each store on various parameters. Thereafter names of the winners will be announced on January 16, 2002 at an award function ceremony. The winners are of course entitled for different prizes. There would be one first winner, who will win a 14-inch color TV or a washing machine; two winners can vouch for second prizes, which is slated to be a Phillips microwave oven or a Venus geyser. Ten winners can hope for a travel bag worth Rs 400 in the third capacity.
Seeing a vast opportunity, RBC placed its products with the fast moving range under the following categories: digital camera's, keyboards, mouse, storage boxes, inkjet media, document storage products, writing pads, glue stick and sticky pads.
Looking at the new trend of retail marketing in form of departmental stores and multi store and multi location stores, deS'mat has started its new division-Merchant Associate Division, led by Ashwin Jalan and headed by Ashish Gupta.
The company by now boosts of a tie up with leading lifestyle stores in the capital and NCR like Ebony Retail Holding in NOIDA and Music World in Ansal's Plaza and Vikaspuri. Recently it finalized its agreement with WordsWorth, a part of the Ebony Retails Holding Pvt Ltd for its entire chain in Delhi and other places. The tie up with WordsWorth in Chennai, finalized in October this year is already up the ramp.
