Delta India held a day long seminar on' Power Supply Efficiency Technology'
in Delhi and Bengaluru.
Dr Milan Jovanovic, CTO-Power System Business Group, Delta Electronics,
Taiwan visited India to address the 'Power effiÂciency issue' at the seminar.
The event was attended by CIOs, CTOs, R&D and Engineering heads of power
electronics and IT industry.
Jovanovic with over 250 journals, has 31 patents on power conversion
technoÂlogies and has conducted 50 short courses on the subject shared insight
on 'The Efficiency Challenge - Technology for Green Power Supplies' and 'Power
Supply TechnoÂlogy- Past, Present and Future'.
The seminar was held in Delhi on Oct 3, 2007. It focused on the issue of how
technology for power systems of modern computer/telecom equipÂment will face
extremely tough challenges due to continuous increase in power-density and
effiÂciency requirements. During his visit, Jovanovic also addressed the
students and members of education fraternity in a presentation at IIT Delhi.
Jovanovic said, “Power efficiency is a major differentiator for businesses
worldwide. Today it is important for companies to gain competitive advantage for
their customers, control operational costs especially the energy bills and to
control carbon emissions as a CSR initiative”
Under the leadership of Jovanovich, a research team is working on future
power supply topologies.
Dalip Sharma, MD, India said, “Rising power and cooling costs have made
energy efficiency a strategic concern for R&D design heads as well as the data
center managers. There is a strong need to address the present power efficiency
issue.”
