Dell has announced the PowerVault 122T, a rack-optimized, automated tape-backup storage system for businesses that want to lower the overall cost of protecting critical data.
The hardware and software features of the new PowerVault 122T automate the data
backup process, helping to reduce system management time and cost by consolidating storage backups. Ideal for small-to medium-sized organizations, remote
offices or workgroups within a large enterprise, the PowerVault 122T's 2U (3.5 inches) form factor offers a rack-optimized
way to backup and protect business-critical data on Dell PowerEdge servers or Dell PowerVault Network Attached Storage
(NAS) servers.
The PowerVault 122T has one DLT VS80 tape drive and holds eight-cartridges for a maximum storage capacity of 320GB
(640GB with 2:1 compression). The system offers maximum performance with a data transfer rate of 10.8GB per hour
(21.6GB per hour with 2:1 compression).The PowerVault 122T allows customers to leverage existing network investments,
offering compatibility with previous tape storage technologies. Businesses can also choose from a full line of Dell's
tape-backup software for advanced management features that include disaster recovery and simplified backup scheduling.
The PowerVault 122T is available worldwide with prices starting at Rs 2,53,549. Services offered include limited warranty,
