Dell has been working hard to increase its market share in
Taiwan. The growth of Dell already competed not only with Acer and Asus, which
are two major domestic PC brands, but also with foreign brands such as HP and
Lenovo. In these two year, Dell has grown 30 to 40 percent each year
particularly in commercial market that is expected to maintain its growth of
over 30 percent this year. Dell also proved that the direct sale model also
worked in Taiwan and other Asian and Pacific countries. It will be a crucial
region for Dell to expand in the global market. Dell is already a major threat
to PC brands in Taiwan, where the market saw a growth rate of 30 percent in PC
products and 100 percent in server products every year.
