DDR3 is now the main stream product

With the growing amount of
digital data and increased need for mobility in our day-to-day life,
the demand for portable storage devices and faster memory speed has
been continuously on the rise. These products have created a huge
market pull, so much so that even the global slowdown could not
hamper its growth story. The total Indian storage peripheral market
in FY 2010 has secured a good growth over the previous fiscal,
clearly indicating the heavy commoditization of the devices. Need for
high
speed/capacity mobile devices have further improved the demand for
portable storage devices. The prices of these devices have also
reduced drastically. These factors are supportive enough to justify
the strong growth that this product segment has witnessed in FY 2010.
The external hard drives are already posing serious threats to high
capacity pen drives.

DDR3 is now the main
stream product, and it will continue to do that for the next two to
three years. It is already in the news that DDR4 prototype is ready.
So we can expect exciting technologies approaching in the DRAM arena.
SSD is more reliable and faster in speed thus it makes great rival to
HDD. Some characteristics of SSD like booting speed, data transfer
performance, reliability of SSD continues to increase at an amazing
rate even exceeding some of the optimistic predictions that prevailed
few years ago.

The biggest trend that
everyone's looking forward to is USB 3.0. The reported speeds are
five to eight times faster than the fastest USB 2.0 flash drives.
Another big development with flash drives is how hardware encryption
is becoming more of a commodity than a luxury or enterprise feature.
Then there are many different hardware functions and software that
comes with USB drives these days. Almost all market reports in recent
times suggest an upswing in this area. Peripheral devices like DRAM
memory, flash or pen drives, flash memory cards and sticks, external
hard disks, MP3/MP4 players and digital cameras have been augmented
with the increased consumption of various digital consumer devices.

There is a demand pull
from customer end and India is potentially a huge market. Data
generation in today's world is immense and majority of India has
not yet experienced the technology products so the growth scenario
for personal storage and memory up-gradation is massive. In DRAM,
market is moving from downgrade quality products to major brand
quality products, and partners are preferring products which have
least failure rate and have prompt warranty support. According to my
personal observation, year 2011 will be the year of flash products.

Companies who are
channel-friendly are getting more successful in the market. Strontium
is known for its channel friendly policy in the market and we are
optimistic to be among the top three brands in India. As per our
estimate, USB flash drive market in India is approx. 1.5 million
units per month and memory cards, three million units per month, so
it makes Indian market size close to Rs 1,000-Rs1,100 crore annually
as an attractive destination for the companies.

The majority of market has
shifted to DDR-3 in assembled PC market and demand for higher
capacity is increasing with 4GB modules getting popular. Demand for
DRAM is directly related to PC market size and higher speed
requirement. PC penetration in India is still very low and good
prospect for growth is expected in coming years. Upgrade market is an
important focus area for us.

We have been engaged in
developing, producing and selling DRAM and flash-related products
since our establishment. We provide customers with the latest
technology. Our products come with different hardware functions and
software that will make our products more user-friendly and reliable.
We pay careful attention to each of our product, and we work hard to
offer the most comprehensive product line to customers.

Market is rapidly shifting
towards portable computing devices and therefore is limiting the
growth in DRAM industry in channel business. The biggest trend that
everyone's looking forward to is USB 3.0. The reported speeds are
five to eight times faster than the fastest USB 2.0 flash drives.
Another big development with flash drives is how hardware encryption
is becoming more of a commodity than a luxury or enterprise feature.
Then there are many different hardware functions and software that
comes with USB drives.

Demand for storage
capacity and performance will rise sharply in the coming years, as
microprocessors will continue to grow faster, software applications
will become more resource-intensive, and network computing will
become more pervasive. Hand-held Android devices connected through
Internet is the latest thing to have come up and it will change the
industry scenario in the next couple of years.
