Delhi Computer Traders Association (DCTA) elections had been enjoying a continual linger for nearly a year. The election commissioners (Sunil Narang of Elcom Trading and Ashok Agarwal of Trifin Technologies) have been applauded for their efforts put forth in this event.
This one day event was preceded with various stages. First stage of membership renewal ended on August 14, which made some new members and excluded some older members from taking part in this coveted election. Thus totaling up the total member strength to 279.
The nomination filing ended on August 16, with a total of 11 nominees for seven seats. Out of total 11 people, the nomination of Rajesh Aggarwal of Micromax Technologies, a strong contender for the seat of President, was rejected as his organization was not a member of
DCTA.
Thus, with total of 10 contenders in fray, there was a close contest slated for three posts and rest four posts had unopposed candidates. With a total turnover of 70 percent from the total member list of 279 members, it can be termed as a very successful election.
President enjoyed a landslide victory, with 83 percent of the total votes going in his kitty. General Secretary won with a lead of about 30 percent from the nearest rival. But the Joint Secretary seat had a close shave and won with a mere lead of five percent. The rest unopposed positions were Senior VP, VP, Secretary and Treasurer.
When DQW News Bureau spoke to the community, it showered its praises to the officials handling the whole procedure. As per them, it has been a very unbiased election and right representatives being elected for the new body.
