What is your company's focus for 2011?
It will focus on developing partnerships with government and government
owned enterprises this fiscal to boost its businesses. Datacraft also
has a huge focus
on setting up a private cloud on both enterprises and government
domains. Furthermore, we are looking at increasing our revenue as well
as employees in India.
What do you think will be the overall
trend that technology companies would be looking at in the coming few
years?
We can categorize this under 3 broad solutions based trends: revamping
and then automating various business processes; consolidating data
centers and implementing technologies that help save money such as
virtualization and cloud services; and outsourcing or using
software-as-a-service providers for routine tasks.
The idea is that by automating and outsourcing the work that just keeps
the lights on, IT departments can focus their valuable staff resources
on innovative projects designed to grow the business.
Which area will see a fundamental
shift in the IT Industry?
2011 will see a shift in business expectations from just focusing on
cost based efficiencies to achieving greater results based on
enterprise and IT productivity. This shift will create the need for new
roles within information security that will increasingly specialize in
managing, negotiating agreements and deliverables with cloud
providers. The cloud movement will fur ther enhance focus on
industry-specific, business related processes and lead to more
business, privacy, application, risk and securitysavvy management
professionals. Cloud computing initiatives are high on the government's
agenda as agencies quickly transition to the secure cloud in an effort
to increase cost efficiencies.
What i s Datac raf t ' s CSR
initiatives and what role do you see ICT playing in the field of
education in the next decade?
Embedding ICT in the teachinglearning process is a major initiative in
all branches of education; ICT has a particularly important role to
play in developing a provision for bilingual learners. The increased
use of ICT to deliver and enhance aspects of educational provision is
now an emerging practice for all learners belonging to rural and
geographically remote and mainly monolingual areas, thus, having
advantages in overcoming geographical barriers. Video conferencing
facilities
developed to enable isolated learners to share learning with others in
remote areas can also be used to reduce linguistic isolation by
allowing same first language learners to discuss and communicate
remotely.
