D Com Computers from Mumbai is the proud winner of a brand new Hyundai Accent
car under the Samsung India Electronics Ltd’s ‘The $ -DOLLAR Program’. The
program started on February 4, 2004 and ended on April 10, 2004. It was ai-med
to enhance the profitability of all the IT rese-llers and SI’s in the country.
The lucky cheque nu-mber that was chosen rando-mly in the com-puter was
DSA-0328800, which belonged to D Com Computers.
According to Sonal Anand, National Product Head (Volume IT), "We saw
more than 4,300 rese-llers and SIs participating in this contest and it was one
of the biggest response that we have ever received from such a scheme. This was
possi-ble because we didn’t restrict the participation and there was no
minimum slab, even by purcha-sing one unit of 15 inch monitor rewards can be
won."
The program was open on every purchase of Samsung monitors, HDDs and optical
media storage products from a Star Elite partner, who will issue a cheque. There
were four different colors of cheque depending on the product bo-ught. Each
cheque had a certain pre-defined value which will be called $amsung Dollars
<$Dollars>. These $Dollars can be converted into actual rate. Every cheque in
addition to having a certain $Dollar value also had a unique serial number,
giving a chance to the win the mega prize of a Hyundai Accent car in a lucky
draw.
Vivek Prakash, VP, Samsung In-dia Electronics Ltd said that par-tners today
sho-uld concentrate on selling more and more higher end products, which will
en-sure higher pro-fitability. "It is very important for the resellers to
focus on value and not quan-tity as today it is the smart reseller who would
make more margins. Partners should ensure that they lower their inventory."
Vivek highlighted the fact that Samsung would make every effort to ensure that
resellers win as much profits from all the future schemes that Samsung would be
launching in the coming fiscal. "We want to work closely with our partners
and realize that vendors should ensure more profitability for the partners.
Samsung will ensure that in future also we launch campaigns, which would ensure
the growth of all our channel partners bottom line," Prakash pointed out.
