Bangalore-headquartered distributor Cyberstar has organized a seminar to
provide technical training for their VARs on AudioCodes products. The seminar,
titled Tech Yatra, will be held in 12 cities across the country and will run
from the last week of November till the last week of December 2005.
Israel-based AudioCodes Ltd, provider of voice over packet technology and
voice network products, recently announced the appointment of Singapore-based
Cyberstar as distributor for SAARC countries. Commenting on the appointment,
Shailendra Singh, Regional Manager — South Asia and Middle East, AudioCodes
said, "We chose Cyberstar because of the reach the company has in various
parts of the country. They are a small entity, hungry for business and suit our
requirement. Apart from Cyberstar we have also appointed Delhi-based RV Comtec
and Mumbai-based Novanet Tech.
AudioCodes recently opened their office in Gurgaon in September, 2005.
"We are growing our business to some level. The opening of our Gurgaon
office was essential both from the sales and supplies point-of-view," said
Singh.
"We believe that in the next one to two years there will be an
exponential growth in the IT market in India in VoIP products. We are waiting
for government policies to change, which will make VoIP a hot product in India.
For example, currently the government allows VoIP calls to countries abroad but
it does not allow the same within India. By next year this policy should
change," said Deepak Kumar, GM—Net-tech Division, Cyberstar.
With AudioCodes, this will be the fifth product in networking that the
company has tied up with, the other four being Netgear, SMC, Huawei-3Com and
Sterlite.
In India Cyberstar will be pushing AudioCodes products through their VAR
partners. The company currently has eight VARs and hopes to expand to 16 in the
coming two to three months.
