Cyberspace scam will affect Lucknow University

The Cyberspace scam has caused a major jolt to the
computerization work at Lucknow University (LU). Interestingly, the authorities
concerned in LU are ignorant about the problems they are going to face in future
as soon as the admission formality for the next session starts.

The software that has been loaded in computers of the
cashier and other offices has no backup. In case, any file gets deleted from the
systems, the software will become corrupt causing disturbance in related works.

Actually, Cyberspace officials did not hand over the CD
developed software to the University nor did the varsity ask for it. Now that
the Cyberspace officials, along with the promoters, are absconding, the only way
for the LU authorities to procure the CD is to request UPDESCO, which they have
not done yet due to ignorance.

According to sources, the work of the computerization of
cashier office is to be completed by the end of June. While the works is in full
swing and is expected to be completed by the due date, there is no one (trained
computer professional) to look after the maintenance of computers.

Officials of the cashier office are skeptical about the
problems, which can arise if any of the computers crash. Earlier, the engineers
of Cyberspace managed this job.
