Based out of Taiwan, CyberPower has claimed to be the second largest player in the US market followed by its strong presence across west EU and Taiwan and is now eying to garner atleast 20% market share by the end of 2018.

The company has made its entry after the acquisition of Kolkata based Hita Technology (HT) which "will be gradually amalgamated inside CyberPower".

"CyberPower will be utilising the existing channel framework of HT which has a good base in India. We have tied up with Ingram Micro as our national distributor (ND) and talks are on with Redington and another ND for tier 1 distribution. For the tier 2 level which comprises of the upcountry areas and the dealers, we have a direct distribution structure in place", said Arun Ghosh, MD, CyberPower India.

Further, HT will also be providing the factory level service support to CyebrPower for is manufacturing installations in China and Taiwan.

Presently, the company is scouting for channel partners but is not keen over appointing dealers arbitrarily.

"It took us 3 years to scout for the right partner to enter India and we don't want to rush things here", said Michael Ho, president, CyberPower.

Further, Ghosh stated that the complete acquisition of HT by CyberPower will be complete over a period of 2 years which will give the debuting company an edge over its channel base and clients.

In terms of verticals, CyberPower is focussing completely over the SOHO and SMB segment and is targeting "specific clients". However, other verticals, namely in the enterprise space and collaborations with system integrators are also under consideration as the company is planning to launch UPS and power products above the 10KVA tier in the next 6 months.

Under its present 10KVA limited portfolio, its various products are moderately priced .
