CyberMedia announces 51% YoY increase in net profits in Q2

South Asia's first and largest specialty media house, CyberMedia ended Q2
with a 51 percent YoY increase in net profits and a 26 percent increase in gross
income. "CyberMedia's strategy of focusing on high growth, high margin
businesses has started giving positive results with operating margins improving
to 17.4 percent," said Pradeep Gupta, CMD, CyberMedia.

With 11 publications in the areas of infotech, telecom, consumer electronics
and biotech under its belt, this quarter, the company inked a JV between
CyberMedia and CMP Media for publishing CyberMedia's Global Outsourcing brand
in US & European markets. The first issue is slated to come out in January
2006. "Editorial and marketing teams are already in place in USA and
India," informed Gupta.

Another of group's project BioSpectrum has received the approval of Media
Development Authority of Singapore for Asian edition and the first issue will
hit the market in January 2006. This apart, the company's Content BPO business
is attracting keen interest from foreign publishers. And the Multimedia &
Events subsidiaries are shifting focus to higher margin business in a phased
manner. "These subsidiaries will be merged back into the holding company to
create consolidated portfolio spanning print, digital and events," said
Gupta.
