Cyber cricket for the Keane Cup starts this week

The Tenth Cyber Media Cricket Tournament For The Keane Cup–meant exclu-sively for the Indian IT indu-stry–is starting this week at New Delhi’s Kamala Nehru College ground. As in the previous nine editions of the tournament, it has been orga-nized by Cyber Media (India) Ltd, publishers of Dataquest, PC Quest, Voice & Data, Living Digital, The DQ Weeks, DQ Channels India, and BioSpec-trum. Meant exclusively for the Indian IT industry, it is slated to go on till the middle of Jan-uary when the grand finale will take place.

Being played on a league-cum-knockout basis, a total of 10 teams have been divided into two pools of five teams each. Every team gets to play a minimum of four matches in the league phase. After this, the top four teams from each pool will advance to the quarter finals, after which the tourna-ment will be played on a knock-out basis.

Teams participating include: Cyber Media, EDS, Efunds Inter-national, HECL and Keane India in Pool A; Cadence Design Systems, HP India, NIIT, STMic-roelectronics and WeP Periphe-rals in Pool B.

A glittering trophy each awaits the winner and the runner’s up at the end of the tournament. Besides, there are a number of attractive prizes for the man of the match, best batsman, best bowler, and player of the tournament.

This year’s tournament is sponsored by Keane India Ltd, which is an IT solutions and ser-vices company dedicated to providing long-term, compreh-ensive solutions to a select client base.
