CVR College of Engineering, Ibrahimpatnam, RR Dist-rict has become the 41st
institution in the country to enter an academia-industry collaboration with
Cadence Design Systems Inc. The college will receive VLSI design soft-ware
through the company’s university software program for its new Center for
Excellence (COE) in VLSI design. The donated software consists of Cadence
simulation, verifica-tion, layout and place and route tools, as well as–Encounter
RTL compiler–a global synthe-sis technology-based solution that delivers
highest quality of silicon.
Cadence spokesperson Rohit Bidappa said, "The company is also providing
a ready-to-deploy semester-long curricu-lum on the digital implementa-tion flow
for System-on-Chip (SoC) designs, supported by Cadence application engineers who
train the faculty on Cadence tools." Apart from instructing its students
JNTU-affiliated CVR College will also train the faculty of other engineering
colleges via short-term/certificate course.
