Information
Technology Association (GITA) is facing an issue about
delay in payments from the corporate and SMB sectors in the city.
Currently, the association has 90-95 members and are also registered
with the Federation of IT Associations of Gujarat (FITAG). They had
recently held an IT expo along with the Gandhidham Chamber of
Commerce.

order
to make sure that members do not land up in such a situation in
future, they are also planning to take action by e-mailing their
grievances to its association members. “It is really disappointing
that the period of payments and purchase order always keeps on
getting extending from one month to three months or so,” shared
Sandeep Gombar, CEO, Abhishek Enterprise and President of GITA.

members
also complained that at the time of quotation, corporate
houses do specify the payment timeline. But, when it comes to
fulfilling their promises, the scene is totally different. “In the
quotation, it is specified that payment needs to be made within 10-14
days, but it keeps on extending for over a month,” said Brijesh
Thakker of Yashvi Infotech and Committee Member of GITA.“When one
buys a product for Rs 25,000 and if the payment does not reach us on
the given deadline, we are in a lot of trouble. Not only we have to
face the music from our customers but we also suffer an interest loss
of around 50 percent. Solving our issues with dealers and customers
have become a daily ritual for us,” he added.

style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255) none repeat scroll 0% 0%; -moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding; -moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;">A
member
of the association has even stopped working with corporate
bodies due to late payments. “The credit period is too long in
corporates and there are no added benefits to that wait to speak of.
I have also lost around Rs 5,000 to a corporate client, recently,”
said Mayur Parmar, MEET Infosys of Anjar. The city of Anjar has no
active association at the moment and therefore, Parmar is registered
with the Gandhidham Association.

style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255) none repeat scroll 0% 0%; -moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding; -moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;">However,
all
channel partners in Anjar are not facing the same problem. Ketan
Rathod from Shreeji Computer Center, Anjar has no complaints
regarding the payments. “I am currently handling two MNCs and 15
corporates. I have never had the issue of late payments till date. In
fact, in most of the cases I have received my payments well before
the due date. If some people expect their payments before the
deadline then it is completely their fault. We are earning our
profits from these corporates so it is sad to hear that there are
some people facing these issues.”
