Corel introduces ace@web for dealers

Kolkata based Coral Softwares has introduced a Web-based
dealer network information system called ace@web that can be used by any
enterprise having dealers spread geographically. The company had previously
released business accounting software ACE that currently has around 4,000
subscribers.

Ace@web provides instant information about activities at
one's branches or at the dealers end thereby cutting short valuable time that is
otherwise spent in culling data from various branches and dealers. For the
product to function on one's desk business data is uploaded from the local
server to the Internet server. Data upload for the purpose could be full or
incremental depending entirely on the accounting system in use.

The company also does a complete setup for FTP uploads.
One can have one's own server with access code known only to the administrator
and the dealer or branch connected to your business.

As an introductory offer to ACE users the product is
available at Rs 15,000 onwards which includes one year-hosting charges. On the
other end dealers are required to have an Internet connection and access the
website residing on the server. Each such dealer is assigned a login name and a
password to access its information.

Each dealer or branch can have access only relevant
information or given access to by its software system administrator. There are
comprehensive features available handling either addition or deletion of users
(dealers/branches). Allowing or restricting access to selected reports can
change users' access level. Each user can be linked to the corresponding account
or accounting system.

Ace@web generates reports on order status, outstanding
statements, aging analysis and inquiry follow ups among others. Subject to
technical feasibility any other kind of specific reports can be built. Through
this product, businesses would be able to access all necessary and relevant
information related top dealers, sales representatives and consignments agents
at any place and time.

All dealers' related information is extracted from one's
existing accounting system at the in-house local server and uploaded to the
Internet server on a periodical basis. Suitable software has to be written
depending on the accounting software so used. The cost for the functional
implementation of ace@web would depend on the type of accounting software used,
system study charges and the type of Internet server.
