M.Natarajan, current vice president, is elected for the post of president for the next financial year in 2014, according to the reports. Currently, Muthiah R Pillai holds president's post. Muthuswamy, secretary of the Computer and Media Society of Madurai (CAMS) as well as a past president of Confed-ITA seemed unhappy over his election citing flouting of norms under guidelines.
Muthuswamy adds, "Natarajan is not eligible as he is short of attendance. Also, he was named as the convener of elections and is not supposed to stand in elections. Current leadership team under Muthiah Pillai has vested interests in electing him."

As per the guidelines, the elections can only be held in Excecutive Committee meet but this decision seems to be abrupt.

Gunasekaran A, executive committee member of Confed-ITA from the Nilgiris said that the declaration has been without the consultation of executive members. He adds, "Many of the executive committee members are of the view that the decision has been abrupt and declared without a consensus."
Gunasekaran says that last year there was a representation from Coimbatore as Natarajan serving as a vice president. According to him, members of the Coimbatore zone are of the view that Natarajan cannot be again nominated from Coimbatore leave alone election
