Control IT bags major contract in UAE

Nagpur-based Control IT, a cable and wireless

communications company has bagged a major contract to install surveillance

systems of adapted from their Vessal Traffic Management Systems (VTMS) to the

tune of $ 25 million.

Control IT was founded in 1995 by a group of skilled

professional engineers with a client list that includes Norcontrol Systems and

VingCard. When Norcontrol introduced their latest version of VTMIS, they were

the key players in the process of designing, developing, producing, installing

and training. This was done for the system Control IT and Kongsberg Norcontrol

both headquartered outside Oslo, Norway was merged into Norcontrol IT.

A K Datir, MD, (Indian subsidiary) located at Nagpur

explained that VTMS made it simpler for control of sea traffic for harbors

sitting at a desk. The system can also adapted for purposes of surveillance.

"We were consultants to Kongsberg Norcontrol

Systems to enhance the VTMS delivered to Calcutta Port Trust. The job involved

elements of tracking systems and radar fine-tuning. The job ended up with

maintenance and support control given to our subsidiary in Singapore Control IT

Pte Ltd for round the clock service to CPT," Datir explained. The Calcutta

contract was worth $ 60,000.

Some of the projects recently completed by the company

include an assignment for the installation of VTMS at Korea. Together with the

crew of Kongsberg and Norcontrol Systems, the company had installed at a

surveillance system in the Port of Inchon.

The system consists of six radars and three

control-centers. The job involved setting up a database system with replication

between three servers, installation of the latest software technology, tuning of

tracking and video display had meteorological and hydrological systems.
