Taking an initiative to tap the IT potential of Raipur,
Chhatisgarh Computer and Media Dealer Association (CCMDA) organized a five-day
long IT event, Computel IT Expo 07, at Government Engineering College Ground,
Raipur.
Sunil Soni, Mayor, Raipur inaugurated the event by lighting the
lamp on January 18. He was accompanied by Mahesh, Director, NIIT (Raipur), who
was the guest of honor of the event.
Visualizing the potential of Raipur IT market, number of vendors
including D-Link, Intel, Logitech, Amconics, Xerox, LG, AOC, HCL and Compaq also
put up their stalls. A large number of local channel partners also showed their
interest by displaying their products during this event. Informing more about
the event Kishore Makhija, Advisor, CCMDA said, "The expo area has a
capacity of 60 stalls and most of them were booked at the time of announcement
of this expo."

Telling about their expectations from this expo Makhija said,
"Since our association has not been active for past few years so we had to
discontinue this regular feature. But this year we members made a resolution of
rejuvenating our association. So the first step taken in this direction was
organizing this
IT event. CCMDA has organized this event after a gap of five years so we all are
expecting a large footfall. In last few years IT market has seen a major boom
and customers are really interested in new products. So everybody wants to
leverage on this IT expo." The venue was made Wi-Fi enabled by
D-link.
