Just days after the North Bengal IT

Association ( href="https://www.dqweek.com/nito-to-organise-it-expo-in-february-2011">NITO)

finalized its dates for the expo to be held in

Siliguri, href="https://www.dqweek.com/compass-joins-anti-piracy-drive-2">Compass

followed suit announcing its annual expo to be held

in late January 2011. The dates for the expo have been finalized,

starting from January 28 to 31 following a grand Compass Night. “We

have sent invitations to vendors asking for participation in the

expo. We have also had a meeting yesterday with the potential

sponsors with the proposal,” said Pawan Jajodia, Spokesperson,

Compass. Pradeep Biyani of Suntronic Systems has been appointed as

the Chairman of the Exhibition Committee and will be in-charge for

the planning and executive functions.

Compass has an initial budget of Rs 1

crore for the expo signaling the end of the slowdown in the East.

However, the association is keen on

adopting an innovative approach and is looking for channel

participation not only from Kolkata and upcountry markets in West

Bengal, but is planning to increase its horizons across the East. “We

are thinking of conducting roadshows across East India with the

channel partners and have shortlisted some cities in this respect.

Focusing mainly over the upcountry markets, we are considering

Siliguri, Malda, Purulia and nine other locations in West Bengal,”

Jajodia added.
