13th April: Kolkata-Computer Association of Eastern India (COMPASS) will hold its elections two months earlier, in the month of July as opposed to September every year. In an interaction of now COMPASS President Pawan Jajodia with DQWeek, he said that it is a Committee decision. "The session gets over in March with the end of the financial year. From April to September, we have a span of six month to re-elect new office bearers for COMPASS. Every year, we hold the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in September, but this year we have decided to get over with the election by July end.

This move has been taken keeping the COMPASS Trade Fair in mind which is held in December. Jajodia believes that after the elections in September, the new office bearers and the President gets very little time to prepare for the exhibition often resulting in certain lapses in the fair that can be easily avoided if work starts earlier. With this is perspective, the new office bearers will take seat from August and will put into action the seeds of the exhibition alteast 4-5 months ahead. This will only make the entire fair smooth, efficient and more successful.

A meeting will be held n May to make certain amendments in the memorandum as well.
