COMPASS donates Rs 1,11,000 to J&K earthquake victims

Compass came forward to lend a helping hand towards the ill-fated victims of
the massive earthquake that shook Jammu & Kashmir on October 8, 2005. In its
effort to maintain the spirit of social commitment members of COMPASS jointly
contributed whole heartedly and donated a sum of Rs 1,11, 000 to Buddhadeb
Bhattacharya, CM of West Bengal, for the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for
Jammu & Kashmir earth-quake victims.

The demand draft was handed over to the Chief Minister by Arun Kumar Jalan,
Chairman (Social Activity), COMPASS 2005 Executive Committee on the occasion of
the inauguration of COMPASS 2005 exhibition at the Netaji Indoor Stadium on
October 21, 2005. "This is a part of our social responsibility and
commitment as it is already known that we are dedicatedly involved with many
such activities," commented VK Bhandari, President, COMPASS.

COMPASS had also made a valuable contribution towards the Kargil Fund. Apart
from this the association is also running four computer centers at various
locations for under -privileged children and youth and is planning to open two
more centers this year.
