The dates have been finalised from May 4 to 7 following the Executive Committee meeting on Thursday with Pawan Jajodia reappointed as the Expo Chairman. The venue too, has been shifted to Milan Mela Ground, off E.M. Bypass with the association citing difficulties with the former proposed venue.

"We were having tough time with Netaji Indoor Stadium with the date allocations and the preparations required thereof. We had no other option but to reschedule and look for a new venue", said Rajiv Poddar, Secretary, Compass.

According to Poddar, the association needed 2 days in reserve prior to the expo which could not work out with the previous venue. Also, according to him, during the last Compass meeting, most of the vendors and some members opted to back out of the scheduled expo.

However, Poddar claimed that with the new venue in place and bookings done, this year, the expo will double in terms of stalls and the area availability.

The association is yet to initiate the theme of the expo as well as the agenda and the participation factor.

"Although we haven't finalised any agenda as work has just begun today, we are considering pulling the crowd rather than focus too much over channel business. Also, latest technology and product may be the theme this year", said Pawan Jajodia, Chairperson - Expo Committee, Compass.

With Compass is going ahead with the expo, the formerly proposed Carnival has been postponed indefinitely as the Expo Committee is of the view that it may dampen the consumer spirit on account of repetitiveness and may cut into the overall annual budget.

Jajodia told The DQ Week that Compass will be initiating an aggressive campaigning shortly.
