Commvault and Cisco Launch "All-In-One" Solution

Commvault has launched new Reference Architectures with alliance partner Cisco to give customers and partners an easy-to-buy, pre-optimized and validated solution for simplified data protection and recovery using Commvault's award-winning Software deployed on the Cisco Unified Computing System (Cisco UCS) infrastructure. Commvault also announced support into Cisco's HyperFlex hyper convergence system to help organizations protect data workloads and applications across virtualized and cloud infrastructures. The new reference architectures and Commvault's support of HyperFlex were both announced at Cisco Live in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Through the new Reference Architectures, which provide a set of guidelines and best delivery methods for particular technology deployments within an IT service catalog, customers can now leverage an all-in-one solution with a single, unified backup, recovery and archive platform that lowers total cost of ownership and has the flexibility to scale from terabytes to petabytes. As a result, customers can eliminate the cost and hassle of deploying multiple single-purpose appliances with a modernized data infrastructure that provides insight and value to the business and keeps up with the pace of today's data growth demands.

"We have had significant success using Commvault Software in combination with our Cisco UCS and Nimble infrastructure to turn our data into a significant strategic asset for our organization," said Matloob Hussain, ICT Infrastructure Engineer, Xentrall ICT Services. "Since the original rollout, we have upgraded to the 11th version of Commvault's data platform, which has resulted in backup times becoming significantly quicker and archive recall speeds that are on a par with accessing un-archived files, across our environment."

The Commvault Reference Architectures, which enable customers to deploy quickly, reduce implementation risks and accelerate time to value, are available for select Commvault customers and Cisco partners immediately.

"When we look for solutions to our customers' important data backup, recovery and management needs, both on-premise and outside in hybrid cloud scenarios, we not only require exceptional technologies, but also solutions built on partnerships by trusted industry leaders," said Tom Cahill, Vice President, Product and Partner Management, CDW.  "Through their new reference architectures, Commvault and Cisco are going to make it easier and faster for CDW to deliver the solutions that add value for our customers."

"Launch of the new reference architectures and our support into Cisco HyperFlex bring trusted industry leaders together with complementary technologies for the benefit of customers and partners," said Ralph Nimergood, Vice President, Worldwide Channels & Alliances, Commvault. "We are proud to team up with Cisco to address real customer pain points around ease of purchase and deployment in the form of reference architectures to reduce unnecessary hardware acquisition costs, optimize mission critical applications and limit the time to implement the right-sized solution significantly."

Commvault Supports Cisco HyperFlex

In addition to the launch of Commvault's Reference Architectures for Cisco, Commvault announced support for Cisco HyperFlex, the company's hyperconverged system combining compute, storage and networking into an easy-to-use platform built on Cisco UCS infrastructure.

Through this support, Commvault provides data protection and recovery of data workloads and applications running across virtualized and cloud infrastructures on Cisco HyperFlex.
