most awaited IT expo of the Trade Association of Information
Technology ( href="https://www.dqweek.com/tait-announces-the-names-of-office-bearers">TAIT),
kicked off on 21 October in Mumbai. Going by the
theme that COM-IT had this year, 'Synergies 2010' which means to work
together, TAIT makes sure that it has the ability to prove to the
world and stand by its word.

face="Times New Roman, serif">Champakraj
Gujrar, Chairman, TAIT said, “This is the fourth year of COM-IT and
we are happy to announce that this year we have 20 new participants
and it is successfully growing. Currently we are concentrating on the
most emerging technologies in the market such as telecom, security
and surveillance. We will train our partners to come up with the
security products in the market and ensure that the best technologies
flow in the market. On my recent trip to Hongkong, I made a visit to
one of the exhibitions by a Hong Kong association. I was surprised
with the number of participants participating in the expo which was
more than 1000 in number. Discussing with the association I found
that the IT communication is growing worldwide and everyone is aware
about the huge business potential of India's IT sector. So it will help
in the growth of IT sector among the association by TAIT
planning to merge communications, security and IT together which will
definitely help in recognition of COM-IT across the world.”

to Girish Rathod, President, TAIT said that this year they have
received tremendous responses for the dealers and corporates from
other cities as well. Compared to last year where the footfalls
registered were around 30,000 they are expecting more this year.
Elucidating
more on the international tie-up, Rathod shared that they are in
talks with the agencies and TAIT will be the first association to
take this step and implement it in a wider scale. Seeing
this expo as the best opportunity for the launch of their products
companies like eScan, Logitech and Panda Security did not miss the
chance and made sure to enthrall the audience with their new set of
products. Talking
more on the product launch, Rajat Sahu, Head-Marketing, Microworld
said, “We have always been a channel driven company and we thought
that COM-IT is the best platform to launch our eScan version 11
product. It is a misconception that eScan is low in promoting the
brands and also by participating in COM-IT and by launching the
product we wanted to change the perception of the people. In fact we
have the maximum number of footfalls compared to other stalls and we
are happy about the same.”

Kumar, Channel Sales Manager, Logitech also appreciated the fact of
registering a good number of footfalls at their stall and also sales
of four products on the first day itself. Logitech unveiled a range
of high-definition of computer peripherals at the expo. The
two new partners from security sector who participated for the first
time in COM-IT were Zicom and Micro Technologies.
face="Times New Roman, serif">As
it is known that now even the channels are targeting security, so we
have received a decent response from the people especially from the
SMEs and the corporate sector. Also we are expecting more on the
weekends,” said G Narayan, Sr Manager-Sales, Zicom. The
first day of the COM-IT ended on a high note with a panel discussion
on 'Looking beyond IT- Opportunities and Challenges' where The DQ
Week
was assigned to moderate the session. While
other associations also hold IT expos, but if TAIT goes international
it will surely be acclaimed worldwide and it might also result in
growing phenomenally for the associations in the IT market.
