CMTES offers Australian IT course

Hyderabad based CMTES Informatics, providers of custom-based software solutions, maintenance of hardware and software as a service provider and with a strong presence in the IT education in Andhra Pradesh, has tied-up with La Trobe University of Australia to provide Master of Information Technology (MIT) course at Hyderabad. La Trobe is ranked sixth in the world for systems and software engineering.

"The MIT course and study materials are designed by the Australian University. The question papers are set and the answers evaluated by them. Special classes would also be conducted by the professors in Australia at Hyderabad to familiarize the students with the Australian methods of teaching, learning, culture and the accent," said G Prabagar, Chairman & Managing Director, CMTES Informatics Limited.\

The first semester of the course would be done at Hyderabad, following which the students will move to La Trobe University for the completion of the remaining three semesters. The students who clear the first semester would be awarded a graduate certificate in IT by the Australian University. The fee for undergoing training for the first semester is Rs 37,000. The students, however, will have to pay an examination fee of Australian dollar 125 per subject for the first semester. Totally there are four subjects in the first semester.

The students will have to pass the IELTS (English language) test conducted by the British Council before studying in Australia for the completion of the remaining three semesters.

CMTES has also entered into a tie-up with Global Infobyte, a service agency of Australia, to provide part-time job during the course of study. "We will also give placement to our students after completion of the course either in India or Australia. In Australia there is 32,000 vacancies available," said G Prabagar. After the completion of the first semester, CMTES would assist the students in securing visa, air ticket for travel to Australia, bank loans, accommodation in Australia.

"By the mid of July we will be opening our training center in Chennai also where also we will offer the Australian IT course. By February 2002, we will spread our horizons to Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkotta, Ahmedabad and Baroda," added
