CMDA Pune conducts three events

Pune-based Computer and Media Dealers Association (CMDA) conducted three major events for its members in the month of September. It organized General Body Meeting, SI-RD Meet and Cyber Law Management Seminar.

The first event General Body Meeting was held on 7th September at Hotel Aurora Towers, Camp, Pune with ICICI Bank Presentation. Rahul Khurd, secretary, CMDA briefed about the yearly projects which has already been completed and those scheduled. Also the 'New Office' proposed plan was put in front of the GB. After a long discussion it was deiced that the plan has to be revised with the help of Interior designer professional agency.
The next was the launch of ITExpo Directory, which was the same size that of last year, but this year the number of copies would be 20, 000. For this members booked almost 50% of the space. The meeting ended with National Anthem.

To safe guard the interest of CMDA members, whether it may be RD, Sub RD, Large SI, SI or retailers, CMDA have formed Business Improvement forum in which every year it conducts SI and RD Meet separately to address their concerns.

SI-RD Meet was held on 20th September in which they have further taken forward to form committees from SI and RD to have regular follow-ups on plans and decisions. Also this year CMDA added one more meet where both SI's and RD's combined meeting would be taken to address respective concerns on a common platform. For this they have planned a panel discussion in which representative of each community would participate and address their concerns.

The topics covered were majorly on DOA Policy, Physical Damage Policy, Short Shipment Policy, Informal Commitments for RD and Sub-RD, Dumping Policy, LFR and Online Trade issue, Transactional issues, SPC Issue, Scheme Fulfillment, MOP and MRP issue.

For this meet top bosses of Western Digital were specially present; Rishi Prasad, channel marketing manager, India and Subcontinent, Sandip Maheshwari, sales manager, West India, Alok Aryan, national sales manager, Enterprise Products. This event was managed by Khurd.

Cyber Law Management Seminar on Cyber Law was held on 21st September at IMA Kelkar hall, Tilak road. Advocate Vaishali Bhagwat, learned Lawyer who also been a professor and Author for software professional took this seminar. As Vaishali is well aware of IT industry and cyber law, she guided all through her authoritative speech.
Different topics were taken into consideration during the discussion such as provisions of cyber law, care to be taken while attending customer calls, points to be kept in mind while entering into AMC agreement, points to be remember while hiring an employee and how to keep away from piracy and what procedure to be followed in case of Piracy raids.

"We have received excellent feedback from attendees and many members insisted to have such more seminars in future. CMDA also received suggestions from members to make AMC proposal format with reference to cyber law, which can help members as a guideline while entering into AMC agreement," said Khurd.
