CMDA opens own office in Pune

Computer and Media Dealers Association (CMDA), Pune is among the first associations in the country to have formed its own office. This is the first time in the country that an association of this nature has taken the step to establish its own office.


CMDA has purchased a 400 sq feet office in Pune with the aim of increasing interaction among the members. CMDA currently boasts of a member strength of 170 and has plans to establish a membership drive to increase this number. Pune has around 2,000 dealers dealing in IT consumables and peripherals.

Harish Bhosale, former President of CMDA inaugurated the office on March 7 in the presence of Atul Shah, ex-President and Suresh Joshi. The inauguration got off to a rousing start with managing committee of CMDA felicitating the past presidents of the association. Amongst those felicitated were Shah, Pradeep Namjoshi, Shyam Bhandari and Tahir

Taherbhai.

John Thomas, President, CMDA said that the association had intentions of strengthening the base of CMDA in Pune and then forming a federation of associations from smaller towns like

Kolhapur.

Anil Pherwani, Secretary, CMDA, said that the office would look into important issues such as arbitration issues between dealers and dealers or dealers and vendors. Some of the principal dealer issues such as warranty, octroi problems and incentives/back-ends/schemes/ will also be dealt with here, he said. CMDA has plans of using this platform to eliminate prevailing malpractices in the market. Pherwani said that the office will also be used for product launches from smaller principals
