Reinstating its
aggressiveness in the services industry,
href="https://www.dqweek.com/gigabyte-to-open-service-centers">Gigabyte
has appointed
ClubLaptop as national service partner for its laptops. Although
Gigabyte doesn't have a declared exclusive model for services,
ClubLaptop is presently its sole partner for services, thereby
getting monopoly rights, at least for the time being. Furthermore, it
is expected that this exclusivity is going to remain with ClubLaptop
in the short run.
“Services and components
distribution is our core business for the ClubLaptop wing. Ranging
from AMC to individual services, we have now expanded our fold to
include vendors too and have thereby started this maiden venture with
Gigabyte,” said Alkesh Agarwal, CEO, ClubLaptop.
ClubLaptop is following
the franchisee model for appointing service partners and has expanded
to 65 locations pan India which includes mainly class-B cities.
Presently, the company is having annual revenue of Rs 18 crore,
however, Agarwal is not expecting a huge jump in its revenue this
financial year.
“The venture is just
about one and a half years old and service industry is not quite
lucrative. At this stage, it would be unjustified on my part to
expect a huge jump in revenue. We need to expand our base first and
considering the gestation period, Gigabyte needs to establish their
brand value first. The same goes for us too,” Agarwal opined.
By the end of this
calendar year, it is expected that ClubLaptop will add another 47
branches with special focus on Delhi, NCR, Bihar and Maharashtra.
“Gigabyte is already strong in the eastern markets and is just on
the way to penetrate the northern ones. As a service partner, these
regions will automatically come into consideration for us in terms of
branch expansion; however, in terms of our own component
distribution, we will be focusing on the western region too besides
the regular North and East market,” Agarwal concluded. Besides,
with its push in the laptop component distribution business, the
company is also planning to get strong in the channels.
