Coimbatore Information Technology Association (CITA) is organizing Compu-Fest
2009 for the fifth time. The three-day event will take place between July 31 and
August 2 at Padmavathi Ammal Cultural Center, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore.
Senthil Kumar, Treasurer, CITA and Organizer of Compu-Fest 2009, said that
the exhibition would be the best platform for dealers to beat the slowdown. “We
have allotted nearly 81 stalls for the expo and are awaiting bookings. It's the
best platform in the region for the IT business community and our customers to
come together. We expect the number of visitors to cross the last year's 35,000
mark.”
Rajinikanth, President, CITA, said, “We expect this expo to be a grand
success despite the market slump, because when the market is good we do 10 right
things and when it is otherwise we do 20 right things. We have done all the
things necessary to make this event beneficial to the vendors and our customers
as well.”
R Mahesh, VP, CITA, claimed that this expo would be a catalyst during the
time of slowdown to increase the customer awareness. “Generally, when there is a
budget presented in the parliament, the customers would expect the prices to
fall and these kind of expos would enlighten them on actual happenings on the
price front.”
Mahesh also added that the expo would see the movement of low-price products
like netbooks.
The association expects visitors from nearby towns such as Tirupur, Pollachi
and Udumalpet and has planned to conduct lucky draws for registered visitors.
