CITA inaugurates IT exhibition

Coimbatore Information Technology Association (CITA) has kick-started their IT Expo, one of the most potential revenue-generation activity of the association.

The 15-year-old forum with 120 Registered members had participated in the 11th edition of COMPUFEST 2012 which was inaugurated today. Speaking to ‘The DQ Week', the official media sponsor of the Expo, G Suresh, chairman of the expo committee, said, "We are expecting about 50,000+ crowd and this event 100% for the IT, Telecom and Communication Products and is the city's one and only IT Exhibition." Speaking further on the participation, he said, "There are more than 70 Stalls and participation are there from leading IT Vendors like Lenovo, HP, TOSHIBA, DIGISOL, ASUS, Belkin, Dell, Samsung, INTEL, Intex, TP-LINK and so on."

Speaking on the arrangements, Mohan, President, CITA, said, "The expected current booking is about 400-500 laptops worth 150Lakhs, other accessories and services worth about 100Lakhs." "Followed by this there will be a follow-up sale for another 3month for more than 2-3 times of this value." "More than 100 Colleges in and around Coimbatore has been invited personally for this event happening on Sep 14-16th in Padmavathi Kalyana Mandapam in the city", he concluded.
