thought in mind to have our own CIO club in Gujarat. Exploring my
contacts and relationships with other CIOs, I made them understand
about the importance and influence of having a CIO club. We have

Co-Coordinator, CIO club.

CIOs of various manufacturing companies and service sector
organizations were present at the inaugural function at the ACMA
expo. The club has been formed to provide a forum for discussions,
sharing knowledge and experiences. Sandip Shah who is the Director
for Neesa technologies will be the President of CIO club and Devang
Shah, the GM for IT at GMDC will be the VP of the CIO club. Speaking
on the occasion Sandip said, “ Basically, the CIO club is about the
IT user coming together to discuss about the upcoming trends and
technologies, vendors talking about the supply of products,
discussing about the problems related to implementation of ERP, cloud
computing and sharing experiences. With growing operational and
strategic importance of IT, the role of the CIO is undergoing a

both operationally and strategically has grown, the role of the CIO

week such as adding more members, creating awareness and involving
themselves in major projects. The membership of the club is
restricted to CIOs of IT user organizations, who has more than 10
years experience in this field. “

become a business strategist and with the rapid pace of technology
advancement, the CIO must continually refresh his knowledge and
fine-tune skills in order to remain effective,” added Devang.
