Shortly after its
formation,

of Indian IT Associations (CIITA) is
planning to opt for East India's very own IT Conclave and the
matter is supposed to be taken up in the next meeting of CIITA. The
confederation has planned to hold its second meeting in Bodh Gaya
after its formation at Puri. With the executive council and office
bearers in place, CIITA is now planning to finalize its charter, as
well as, the policy and ruling guidelines.
“Apart from doing follow
ups on the last session we had in Puri, whereby we had finalized the
council and the office bearers, we will propose the formulation of
the IT Conclave to the committee at CIITA. If the resolution is
passed by a simple majority, we will go ahead with the plans for the
conclave,” said
Rajiv Poddar, secretary, CIITA. Further, it is learnt that the
proposed IT Conclave is the brainchild of B Hari, president, COMPASS.
“In the meeting, we will be discussing about policies and the
charters. However, most importantly, we will be forming the vendor
policy wherein we will ask all
new vendors (in East India) to be recognized by CIITA before any of
our members, including the regional association conducts any business
with them,” said Naveen Kumar, member, Executive Council, CIITA.
Although the proposed
registration and formalities for the vendors and new entrants are not
yet clear, it is learnt that business, ethical and guarantee issues
have prompted this line of action from Bihar IT Association (BITA).
“Often we hear about cases where a channel partner complains about
a 'new vendor' ending all its ties with a partner abruptly and
literally flees the scene,” Kumar complained.
Besides the regular
meeting, BITA has also organized a pleasure sight-seeing trip across
the historic locations of Bodh Gaya, Pawa Puri and Nalanda for the
delegates attending the meeting.
