CII, Manufacturers Association for Information Technology (MAIT) and NASSCOM have formally launched 'ICT India 2002' scheduled from 6th to 9th, February 2002 in Mumbai. The exhibition will showcase India's capabilities in the field of IT and Telecom. The exhibition is expected to provide an impetus to India's growing ICT industry, which is currently estimated at $ 26 billion and is forecasted to grow from the current contribution of 5 percent to 8 percent of India's GDP by
2005.
ICT India 2002 is being designed and developed with the objective of providing a one-stop-shop for accessing and delivering state-of-the art technologies and products in the ICT sector. The event will provide a broad plank for delivering diverse content in traditional as well as new
emerging technologies born by the convergence of the information and communications sector. ICT India 2002 will showcase key technologies and trends in the areas of Hardware, System integration, Telecom, Software and Services, Internet, E-Commerce, E-governance, Broadcasting, Entertainment, Infrastructure and Education through its extensive displays and pavilions. A series of power packed seminars addressing user and industry issues will complement the
exhibition.
The exhibition will be broadly categorized across three primary sectors, which include Telecom and Broadcasting; Internet and E-Commerce and IT Hardware, Software solutions & Services. Some of the special focus areas under these sectors include a special section on IT Solutions, a special pavilion catering to the needs of the evolving e-marketplace, sections showcasing innovative solutions in the area of finance and insurance and a pavilion that exhibits products for network-based education and training.
ICT India 2002 is expected to bring together over 400 companies. The exhibition aims to provide Individuals and IT user companies meaningful insights on how they can gain a competitive edge in the new Web-dominated environment, using the technology tools available in the market today.
The event is expected to attract over 2,00,000 visitors from India and overseas.
