Chennai reels under thefts: Festive spirits dampened

In a recent incident
unidentified miscreants looted Sai System Solutions located in Ashok
Nagar Chennai. Seven brand new laptops and three service laptops
worth Rs 3.5 lakh were stolen from the premises. The incident
occurred on the November 7, night. Recounting the incident KS Sanjai
the partner of Sai System Solutions said, “We checked all locks and
then left for the day. Because of the festive season, we expected
people to be around for sometime. The miscreants have cut open the
shutter and committed the theft.” Senthil Kumar, President, SNEHAM
(Chennai IT Dealers Association) said, “It is unfortunate that such
an incident has occurred in one of the busiest localities in Chennai.
We advise dealers to be more aware and use security devices like
CCTV's, surveillance cameras etc. Any suspicious element should be
brought to the notice of nearest police station and before recruiting
new staff, one should do a thorough background check.” Sanjai has
lodged an FIR
at Ashok Nagar police station. He remarked, “It is unfortunate that
this occurred during the festive season. But now we have increased
our security systems and bridged all gaps so that there is no
repetition of such incidents.” Similar to this incident Aski
Computers located in Ashok Nagar only has suffered computer thefts,
the details of which are yet to be ascertained. Dealers are requested
to
call Sanjai or contact Sai System Solutions incase they come across
the missing laptops anywhere. SNEHAM has also implored all dealers
to be extra vigilant.
