Chennai-based Dishnet Wireless Ltd has laun-ched its broadband Wi-Fi services
- "Red" in Chennai, which would enable the Internet users across this
metro-polis to access Internet at superior broadband speeds at some of the most
popular Dishnet Red Wi-Fi hot spots in the city.
Unveiling the Dishnet Wi-Fi broadband ser-vices, VG Suri, VP, Dish-net
Wireless Ltd said, "Initially, the Wi-Fi broadband services would be made
avail-able in eight cities and subsequently extended to 38 cities amounting to
6,000 hotspots across the country, by the end of March 2006."
"The Wi-Fi hotspot services would be made available by early May and the
Wi-Max ser-vices would be formally made available by June 2005," he
informed and added that Dishnet has been working closely with Intel on the
Wireless Identification Program.
