size="3">In
spite of slight decline in the association survey ranking done
jointly by The DQ Week and href="https://www.dqweek.com/tait-cmda-pune-and-compass-dominate-dqw-idc-channel-association-survey">IDC,
Coimbatore Computer Dealers
Association (CCDA) has its goals firmly set for the coming year. R
Mahesh of Ozone Computer Service and President CCDA expressing his
opinion said, “CCDA will definitely score better if the ranking is
taken from the members point of view. You cannot compare a tier-1
city association to tier-2 since the volume of business, issues etc
are completely different.”

size="3">CCDA
has always taken a different approach to issues. Forging long-term
relationships between vendors, dealers and customers has always been
the top most priority for the association. Elaborating more on this,
Mahesh said, “Our point of view has always been different from
other associations. We believe in simple yet democratic ways of
conducting business. So far we have managed to keep cordial
relationships between vendors and dealers like one big family.”

size="3">Incidentally
the association claims to be the first association in South India to
conduct IT expos. CCDA recently held a family meet for all its
members. The association is also coming up with a directory called
'Genuine dealers directory' in early 2011. This directory will
contain details of all CCDA members so that customers need not worry
about the authenticity of dealers. The association already has
stringent measures in place to curb dubious dealers. “We don't
advocate open membership and if any member is found fraudulent, we do
not renew his membership. Members can display their details in the
directory so that customers can place them easily. This will help
establish their credibility in the market,” commented Mahesh. One
of the plus points of the association is that every issue is dealt on
a one-to-one basis. The association is planning to conduct regular
vendor meets apart from IT expo. Unlike other associations which are
formed when there is a crisis, CCDA has come a long way. Mahesh
concluded, “Inspite of coming across one issue per week, we are
able to resolve most of them ourselves. We believe in 'live and let
live' policy and have an optimistic approach towards our problems.”
