Canon unveils retail station at Indore

Canon India Pvt Ltd today inaugurated its first retail showroom in Indore as part of its Canon Retail Station program. The outlet, located at 2, MG Road (Worth Shoppe, G-5, Apollo Tower), will be a one-stop shop for all Canon digital imaging products. Canon will retail a wide range of its digital imaging product portfolio at this retail station and will provide customers a `touch and feel' experience to sample the product prior to making a purchase decision.

Expressing happiness at the inauguration of the Canon Retail Station in Indore, Alok Bharadwaj, Director and GM (Consumer Imaging & Information Division and Volume Products), Canon India, said, "In keeping with the growing demand for technology products within the Home and SME environment, we decided to launch an exclusive Canon Retail Station in Madhya Pradesh, which is an important market for us. Given Canon's superior product range, we are confident that we will provide our customers visiting our Retail Station an unparalleled shopping experience."

The Canon Retail Station Program was launched in 2002 and has so far established eight exclusive Canon Retail Stations and 247 Canon Retail Points (non-exclusive) in A, B and C category program. This opening marks Canon's first Retail Station in Madhya Pradesh and the ninth in the country. The other eight Canon Retail Stations are located at Jaipur (Surtaru Fusion), New Delhi (Computer Planet), New Delhi (Nath & Co), Chandigarh (Jetage Computer), Mumbai (Bell Computronics), Chennai (Alphatech), Hyderabad (Youdan Computer and Peripherals) and Kolkata (Bengal
Tracom).

Elaborating on the premium customer experience that will be offered at the Canon Retail Station, Bharadwaj said, "Canon retail outlets are designed to provide a complete shopping experience for customers looking at purchasing our products. In keeping with Canon's quest to take digital imaging into consumer homes, we want to make the purchase of these products a pleasant and convenient experience. By 2003, Canon plans to have 25 Retail Stations across the country."

In order to keep its retail partners motivated at all times, Canon will incentivise its Retail Stations with periodic schemes and promotions from time to time. Parallel to the retail expansion, Canon is also setting up Canon Care Stations all across the country to exclusively service Canon products. Recently, Canon also launched its 100th service center in India.
