Canon has announced that it has extended its retail network across the country by inaugurating a Canon retail station in Kanpur. The outlet is located at Com-puter World, Harsh Nagar and is a one-stop shop for Canon customers to sample products from Canon’s digital imaging portfolio prior to making a purchase decision.
The recently inaugurated Canon retail station in Kanpur is Canon’s 15th retail point in the country and its eighth such facility in North India. The retail point will be used to showcase Canon’s PictBridge technology printers and digital cameras that allow users to take direct prints from digital cameras.
Expressing happiness at the inauguration of the Canon retail station in Kanpur, Alok Bharadwaj, Director and GM (Consumer Imaging and Infor-mation Division and Volume products), Canon India, said, “Uttar Pradesh is an extremely important market for us as is also evident by the fact that Canon enjoys a 30 percent market share in this state. We have already emerged as the number one player in the prin-ter category in cities like Jhansi and Gonda. We are now look-ing at setting up a ‘digi-talfoto’ studio in Lucknow to further strengthen our presence in the photo segment and further build our market share in this region.”
Elaborating on the pre-mium customer experience that will be offered at the Canon Retail Station, Bharad-waj said, “Canon retail outlets are designed to provide a complete shopping experie-nce for customers looking at purchasing our digital imag-ing products such as printers, scanners and consumables. This customer centric app-roach, when combined with our superior product port-folio, gives us an unbeata-ble value proposition and makes us the partner of choice for potential customers.”
The Canon retail station program was launched in 2002 and as part of this initiative, Canon has so far established 15 exclusive Canon Retail Stations and 410 Canon retail points (non-exclusive) in A, B and C cities across the country. The opening of Canon’s Kanpur Retail station marks the launch of Canon’s First Retail Station in Uttar Pradesh and the institu-tion of its eighth such facility in Uttar
Pradesh.
