Canon launches PowerShot S2 IS

Canon India Pvt Ltd has announced the launch of PowerShot S2 IS-the

successor of PowerShot S1 IS—with improved features such as five megapixel CCD,

12x optical zoom and is now powered by the advanced DIGIC II imaging processor.

According to the company, the camera incorporates Optical Image Stabilizer

(IS), Ultrasonic Motor (USM) and a UD lens element. Optical IS works to

counteract camera shake for ultra sharp photos and movies. USM provides su-per

responsive, smooth and near silent zoom, while the UD element reduces chromatic

aberrations for razor sharp images with superb color accuracy.

The PowerShot S2 IS features a 1.8-inch vari-angle LCD maximizes shooting and

playback pleasure, with night display for improved visibility in low light.

The PowerShot S2 IS is available at Rs 32, 495 and its availability in India

is through Canon's distribution channel. The target audience for this digital

camera is primarily consumers in search of a reliable "two-in-one"

digital camera to capture high quality stills and videos.
