Canon India Pvt Ltd, in order to lay more thrust into the home theatre
segment, has initiated a projector summit in Kathmandu for its partners.
According to the press release, the Summit 'Flight 2004-Cruising Ahead' is
the first projector partners' summit organized by any vendor in the indu-stry.
The theme of the summit is designed to encourage partners to expand their market
opportunities by getting into the home theatre segment.
The summit will be held from July 14—16, 2004 in Kathmandu and will be
attended by Canon's projector partners. It is aimed at providing the bridge
between education and sales, to enable partners to create viable home theatre
solutions for customers. The summit will also launch Canon's online training
program for the projector partners and their sales people. This self-learning,
comprehensive training program is designed as a tool for partners to further
their businesses.
Canon believes that projector is an im-portant industry due to the new trends
in home entertainment and growth in the industry. In fact, Canon grew by 77
percent in H1 2004 in proje-ctors over last year. "Our channel part-ners
are a vital exte-nsion of our com-pany and play an important role in ensuring
that our customers get the best possible experience. Canon therefore invests
heavily in the training and development of our channel partners. This is yet
another way we are contributing to the development of home-grown talent and
