Puneet Datta promoted to director of PPP Group, Canon

Canon India has announced the promotion of Puneet Datta as director of Professional Printing Products (PPP) group, Canon India. PPP group is a new business group formed after the amalgamation of Wide Format Printing Division (WFP) that comprises of large format printers, display graphic systems, technical document systems and Production Printing Division (PPD) that include cut sheet digital presses and continuous feed digital machinery systems. He will be reporting to Dr Alok Bharadwaj, executive VP, Canon.

In his new role, Datta will head the entire gamut of sales and marketing functions of this special domain. He would also be responsible for strategic marketing and alliances that would ensure that Canon commercial products and solutions are considered as ‘best value proposition' in the industry. He will also spearhead Canon's goal in becoming #1 in all addressable segments. His last assignment was divisional head and assistant director of production printing division.

With over 17 years of experience in the IT industry, Datta firmly believes that formulating the right 'go to market strategy' is the most crucial aspect for successful business. He started his career at Canon as channel marketing manager in 2004 and went on to become assistant director, marketing, BIS Division. In this role, Datta took Canon to new heights with his sheer determination and strategy, propelling Canon to #1 position in digital copiers' segment in India.

Datta is an engineering graduate from Pune University and has recently concluded a year of senior executive program at IIMK.
