In an effort to recognize the stupendous success of Arihant
Mercantiles in dealing with Canon products for the last few years, the latter
has appointed Arihant as the distributor for its products for almost the entire
state of West Bengal. Speaking on the development R K Bachhawat, Director,
Arihant Mercantiles said, “We have been continuously performing extremely well
for Canon products, especially in case of consumables and digicams. This is
probably the reward of that hard work.” This hard work has paid off in a big
way for Arihant. “The company saw an impressive growth of 25 percent for the
Canon products in the JFM quarter of 2005—2006,” Bachhawat added.

Arihant has been appointed as disti for Canon's IT
segment of digicams and camcorders. “We have sold exceptionally good numbers
of Canon digicams and camcorders last year. And this year too our focus will be
to continue with and increase the sale number,” said Bachhawat. Arihant had
been consistently selling about four hundred units of digicams and camcorders
for the last six months. Boosted by this success the company has set its target
to increase the sales figure to at least thousand units per month within the
next eight months. “We are confidant to touch this figure by the third quarter
of this financial year (2006— 2007),” claimed Bachhawat.
Arihant has also recently tied with Wep for their printer,
UPS and networking products for West Bengal. For Bachhawat the current fiscal is
crucial in order to capture maximum possible market share for the Canon and Wep
products. The company has also plans to open another ret-ail showroom in
southern part of Kolkata before the Puja.
