Canon announces two-year warranty for printers

IT peripheral major Canon has launched a new scheme for the end-users where in the buyers of Canon S200SPx and XNU i320 are entitled to get two-years warranty for the printers, including one-year on-site warranty for the customers. This is the first time Canon, or even any other brand for that matter, is coming out with a two-year warranty for the printers and also most importantly on-site service support.

Canon is positioning its S200SP as the entry-level printer, with Canon BJC-2100SP becoming end of life product. Canon is bringing down the price of S200SPx to make the product available at BJC-2100SP price. Presently, the printer is priced Rs 3,500 in the market. The company is also very aggressive with its XNU printers.

Canon is also giving two-year on-site warranty for MPC400, MPC600F multi-functional all-in-one printers.

Canon S200SP is a high-resolution printer with 2880x720 dpi. It has a print speed of five pages per minute (black) and three pages per minute (color). It is a home photo printer.

Meanwhile, Canon is also going on full-steam with its World Cup offer, boundary and sixer pack. Under this scheme, the buyers will get Gillette products such as children tooth brush and paste, shaving cream, Mach3 razor, Jeep torch light etc.

"The scheme is doing well and it will go up to April. We are confident of selling more than 750 printers in Chennai alone during this period," said Arindam Bose, Business Manager, Wellwin Industry Limited.
